The last day was pretty short. So no reason to hurry in the morning.
It was another beautiful and warm day.
This time my way was leading mostly through towns. That means that I had to pass probably 50 traffic lights, which became a bit annoying. Besides of this, the bike roads were almost everywhere in a terrible condition. Seems like this is a common problem in North-Rhine-Westphalia.
After leaving Aachen, I reached Würselen quickly. Then I went on in the direction of Mönchengladbach. This was about half way today so I had a short lunch break here with some really nice pastries (“Nussecken”). Next town was Krefeld and Duisburg soon after, where I crossed the Rhine again. This was on the Rhine bridge:
Looks nice on the Rhine meadows, but the industry is visible in the background already.
It didn’t take much longer to get home from there (110km in total today). It was time to eat a big piece of belated birthday cake with the family!
