This day was the pretty much opposite of yesterday. First, the weather: It was sunny all day, some clouds and NO wind. Temperature probably 25 degrees. And second, the roads were great today. The first 20km were back on the annoying road from yesterday and then a bit cross country to the village Airel. But then Eurovelo 4 was back finally (even with signs)! It followed the small river La Vire to the south. I followed the road for about 50km with more than 20km/h in average. Very flat and no cars anywhere.
Then I had lunch break at Pont-Farcy and planned the rest of the day.
I chose the most direct way to Avranches. It went over gentle hills on quiet country roads. Sometimes steep but usually rewarding with nice views and long downhill parts. In the end St Michel came into view as well.
I stopped at the first campsite close to the coast and this one was exactly what I am always looking for. Small, simple and cozy. They even sell pizza here and I found a place to hang my hammock. So that’s how it should be.
It was 125km and almost exactly 1000 hight meters today. One of the hardest but also one of the best days so far.
Looks like I will enter Brittany tomorrow!
